We at Transchem Group are focused on growing our presence in the international markets while continuing to expand and operate in North America. We primarily sell our products to the car wash industry, with crossover into the commercial transportation, food manufacturing, industrial, automotive, and agriculture markets.
Transchem was formed and founded by Murray Ewing, a skilled chemical technologist, who developed formulae to use in his mobile truck washing business. Over time, the product line grew to include a broader range of products for the growing franchised mobile truck wash business. Over time, trucking companies and industrial cleaning companies began inquiring and purchasing these products – thus began the commercial sale of Transchem products.
Murray sold his mobile truck washing business to focus on Transchem to market and expand its cleaning products. Murray’s oldest son, Nathan, joined the company, and they begin selling products in the Ontario market in Canada.
The Transchem product line grew to include presoaks, foaming detergents, degreasers, and aluminum cleaners, but carwash cleaning chemicals weren’t part of the line until 1989 when Transchem first sold its products to carwashes.
Transchem gradually added administrative, sales, and delivery personnel over the next several years, many of whom are still with the company today.

Transchem began to export carwash and truck wash chemicals into the US market.
Murray’s youngest son, Tim, joined Transchem to learn the manufacturing side of the business and start manufacturing all products in-house.
The company continued to experience steady growth in the Canadian and US markets, notably in its private label and custom blending products.
Transchem built its first manufacturing and distribution facility, located in Cambridge, Ontario, on Werlich Drive – a 12,000-square-foot facility that the company called home for the next 12 years.
The company outgrew the space and purchased 4 acres of land on Franklin Blvd and built a 32,000 square foot facility and moves to the new building in November of 2011.
A year later, Transchem purchased the industrial carwash brand Turtle Wax® Pro from Turtle Wax®, Inc. with a sales office located in North Ridge, Illinois.
Transchem launched the CarWash Finder app and purchased a local distributor, KenPro Limited, which sells and services carwash equipment and manufactured a line of pressure wash and self-serve cleaning systems in Ontario.
Equipment and Service Division moved into a 12,000-square-foot facility in Kitchener, Ontario, and Transchem began to plan and add 30,000 square feet to the current manufacturing and warehouse facility located in Cambridge, Ontario.
Transchem added 30,000 square feet addition with extra warehouse space, a training room, and touch-free car wash testing facility.
Transchem has evolved and experienced significant growth and change. As a result, the company went through an extensive rebranding effort designed to match the growth and transformation of the organization to meet our customer’s needs. On September 1, 2017 the company officially announced the rebranding and merging all of our businesses under the Transchem Group name.
Transchem Group looks forward to future growth and success for all of its employees, customers, and friends.
